It started out as this blank slate for our young family. We watched it transform from dirt with wooden stakes to mark territory into walls, a roof and doors. Almost eleven years later, here we still are. Edges are worn, paint has been painted over, rooms have been assigned and re-assigned. It is a modest space, in its size and esthetic, when compared to the homes in our surrounding area and network. But it’s just right for me, this inanimate thing that has grown up with us. With as much noise, personality and love we keep filling it up with, it never fails to accommodate.
I love it here.
